Ready-Made Garments (RMG) Sector

Sector Overview

The ready-made garment (RMG) sector is a core focus of the Employment Injury Scheme (EIS) Pilot in Bangladesh. Participating factories and their workers can access tripartite governance, Central Fund processes, and tools that align compensation for employment injuries with ILO principles. The pilot aims to strengthen reporting, prevention, and equitable benefits for workers in export-oriented garment units.

The main employer associations representing RMG factories in the EIS Pilot context include:

BGMEA

Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association — the leading trade body for garment manufacturers and exporters; represented in EIS Pilot tripartite structures.

BKMEA
